Did You Know?

AASHTO is on YouTube!

AASHTO’s news products expand beyond print and web publications. We are also on video!

The AASHTO founders might have envisioned the national transportation system we currently enjoy, but they probably did not imagine anything like the internet. So, it may not seem so obvious that AASHTO has had a major presence online and in social media for several years.

Take AASHTO's TransportationTV (TTV), for instance. The online television channel provides an in-depth look at transportation-related issues for AASHTO members and the transportation community. Since its launch in 2008, Transportation TV has become created high quality video productions, helping to inform and educate thousands of viewers about transportation related news, views and features. From testimony delivered on Capitol Hill and reauthorization and funding discussions to additional information on popular AASHTO publications, Transportation TV covers it all.

TTV has provided news updates on recent developments such as the newly signed Water Resources and Reform Development Act, the impending Highway Trust Fund crisis, and President Obama’s proposed transportation reauthorization measure. The TTV team is always finding new stories and topics to cover to inform our audience of the transportation world.

Aside from regular news updates, Transportation TV highlights several distinct features, such as “Two Minute Update,” which interviews state transportation department leaders and other transportation figures in a quick two-minute segment, “View from D.C.,” which highlights news specifically from the Nation’s Capitol regarding transportation, and “Transportation 101,” which covers specific transportation topics like transportation investment and commuting patterns and trends.
